What happened in Joplin, MO on 8/27/11

On Saturday, August 27th, 700 volunteers left from The Crossing in Columbia, MO before sunrise and headed south to leand their efforts to those effected by Joplin's May 22nd tornado. It was the first “Columbia For Joplin” event!

In just over a month’s time, our community came together to show their support to the people of Joplin by registering 700 people who left Columbia, Missouri at 4am on a Saturday morning in August to drive to Joplin, Missouri and lend their efforts to help those who were affected by the tornado in May.
